In late 2022, after taking over the ACEing Autism website, I identified major challenges with backend functionality, as well as a lack of mobile responsiveness and user-friendly design.
To address these issues, I led a year-long project to develop a staging website. I created a process to guide an eight-person team through the redesign, including developing photo guidelines for both the website and social media. I collaborated closely with a talented web designer, whom I led throughout the project. Combining my vision with his technical expertise, we built a more functional, mobile-responsive, and user-friendly site. I also increased our security, preventing hacks.
In July 2023, the new and improved website launched, featuring an interactive map, an accessibility widget, and simplified content navigation. These enhancements significantly improved the user experience and accessibility for visitors, resulting in a 200% increase in users (reaching 16K per month) and a 29% boost in engagement.
