Six months after the re-launch of the website, I started working on a second version of our map to continue to improve the efficiency of our website. With an audience-first mindset, I established the goals for the map, made a plan, and our website designer helped design it to fit our goals. When thinking about the map, my priorities were as follow:

  • Limit the number of clicks users would need to get to a program's page

  • Offer different options to look for a program

  • User-friendly

  • Mobile-friendly

For the first time in ACEing Autism's history, we launched a responsive map, meaning our users would be able to get to their program's page directly from the map, eliminating clicks and time spent looking for the right link. They are able to look for programs based on zip codes, cities, states, and adjust the radius for more relevant results.
